Woodside – Project Management Leadership Program

Woodside Energy

Custom contextualised company-wide Project Management leadership program.

Project Overview

LogiKal was engaged by Woodside to develop and deliver a company-wide Project Management Leadership program based on company processes, PMBoK® methodology and the Australian Qualifications and Training Framework.

LogiKal’s Approach

LogiKal took Woodside’s concerns on board and ran workshops with the Training and Leadership Group to develop the solution.

Together, they agreed on a customised training program rather than an accreditation approach. It was to be based on the PMBOK framework and fully contextualised to Woodside’s operations.

Over a three-month period, LogiKal’s facilitators worked with Woodside’s subject matter experts to develop the modules. Two pilot programs then allowed people across the business to shape the programs.

LogiKal’s Value Add

All elements of the program were specific to Woodside, including case studies and terminology. The pilot programs helped give the business ownership over the outcome. The final program included a balanced mix of project management fundamentals.

By meeting all the learning outcome requirements of PMBOK® and the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA), LogiKal was able to issue Professional Development Units (PDUs) for the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM) and Project Management Institute (PMI).

Successful outcomes included:

  • The ‘Woodside Way’ is being rolled out to over 300 staff, running every 4-6 weeks for two years
  • Empowerment of Woodside’s HR team to drive engagement
  • An organisational transformation including pre-launch information sessions about the ‘Woodside Way’, run by LogiKal’s facilitators.
  • The ability to select the program as part of the staff performance process
