Main Roads, Western Australia Project Management Capability Enhancement Program Project Overview LogiKal was awarded a tender by Main Roads, Western Australia and subsequently engaged to develop, deliver and evaluate an accredited, PMBOK®-based, Project Management program aligned to the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) standards. The program was customised to include the Main Roads flavour and aimed at improving Project Management organisational capability by enhancing employee knowledge and skills of Project Management methodology, process and practical application in the workplace. The desired state was a consistent and standardised approach to project delivery. LogiKal’s Approach Main Roads, Western Australia’s Project Management program was customised to include the Main Roads approach and aimed at improving organisational capability by enhancing employee knowledge and skills of methodology, process and practical application in the workplace. The scope of the project included: Phase 1 – LogiKal conducted a requirement capture with the client to understand inclusions within the program and the basis for customisation. Phase 2 – Program development and customisation which also included integrating client templates where appropriate into the assessable component of the program. Phase 3 – LogiKal delivered 3 programs which included two at the Diploma level and one at the Cert IV level. Phase 4 – Ongoing cultural embedment, assessing and supporting employees to implement their learnings from the program. LogiKal’s Value Add LogiKal worked closely with Main Roads PMO to ensure the program was aligned to the Main Roads Way of delivering projects. Successful outcomes included: Increased capability by training 48 employees from multiple geographic locations Ongoing embedment through assessments and post-training reviews The delivery of increased organisational capability was well received and is currently ongoing Program review using LogiKal’s preferred evaluation model “Some of best aspects of LogiKal’s Project Management capability enhancement solution were the specific examples, catered to MRWA, in addition to the trainer’s use of real-life applications and personal experiences to help convey the principles covered”.
