Livingstone Shire Council Project Management Maturity Assessment Project Overview LogiKal was engaged by the PMO and CEO of Livingstone Shire Council to conduct an independent review of the Yeppoon Foreshore & Town Centre Revitalisation Project. LogiKal’s Approach LogiKal was engaged to conduct an independent project management review of a significant project in the region. The scope was to access the processes, procedures and tools being utilised to document and track progress. This included: Phase 1 – LogiKal conducted a series of ‘Discovery Reviews’ which consisted of face-to-face interviews with the project team and council’s internal stakeholders. Phase 2a – LogiKal suggested the project team expand to include a project controls expert to track progress and give confidence that the project was on track. Phase 2b – LogiKal supported the PMO by developing a project management framework(PMF), new templates, increased organisational capability, collating business requirements for the new software, and business process mapping. LogiKal’s Value Add A report was compiled outlining all findings and recommendations which highlighted the need for a project control capability within the project, and support to the PMO in developing and implementing the PMF to the whole of the council. Successful outcomes included: Development & implementation of the PMF which included new processes and templates to enable improved project delivery Developing business requirements for Technology One Business Process Mapping Embedding of a Governance Framework for the Executive Leadership Team Increased organisational capability by training 36 senior management staff The delivery of PMF, Governance Framework and PM Training was well received and completed over a 12-month period.
