Gympie Regional Council Discovery Review, Transformation Framework and Customised Cert IV in Project Management Project Overview LogiKal was engaged to develop and customise a transformation program to institute a new framework, with user-friendly tools and training for a diverse workforce. This included a Discovery Review, Governance, Project Management Framework, Customised PM Toolkit and Customised Certificate IV in Project Management Practice. LogiKal’s Approach To ensure the proposed scope of work was the right solution for Gympie Council, LogiKal conducted a Discovery Review to uncover any difference between the perceived issues and the real factors at play by considering the organisation’s processes, systems, tools and capabilities as a whole. Facilitators interviewed project team members at every level to provide a clear picture of the nature and range of issues. The Council welcomed the approach and staff commented that it was an effective process to start bridging “silo-ed” departments. LogiKal’s Value Add LogiKal worked with the Council to develop a Project Management Framework (PMF) based on the PMBOK® methodology and aligned it with the council’s specific requirements and processes. LogiKal also provided a simple PM Toolkit and governance process. To develop a toolset for project management that would work across the organisation, LogiKal went above and beyond to ensure the tools and training courses would be simple to use and easy to scale. As a final check, Council managers reviewed the materials for suitability before their team’s training began. A series of customised Certificate IV in Project Management Practice programs addressed the skills and knowledge gaps, the program materials were customised to include approaches for the newly-developed toolset Successful outcomes included: Over 50 members of the Council staff undertaking the training program, providing very positive feedback on the course. Monthly post-training follow-ups to help staff to complete assessments and apply their learning in the workplace. The success of the final uptake of the toolset. Some departments choosing to scale to more advanced web-based toolsets as a result of the successful user adoption.
