Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale Project Management Review Project Overview LogiKal was engaged by the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale to carry out a review of capital expenditure across its 3 portfolios of Corporate & Community, Planning and Engineering. The purpose of the review was to gain insight and validate perceived and current challenges in delivery and to identify opportunities for improvement. Focus areas for the review included roles and responsibilities, governance processes and application of tools and templates. LogiKal’s Approach The approach to the review was done very much in a ‘no blame style’ which created a positive environment for employees to voice their opinions and raise issues. This inclusive approach allowed for a broad range of issues to be tested and validated allowing for more useful and comprehensive insights to be generated. Focusing on the positives in what was currently happening also assisted employees to take ownership of the areas that needed to be improved. LogiKal’s Value Add The review led to a series of recommendations including the need for enhanced governance, improved project management processes and investment in organisational capability. Successful outcomes included: Development and implementation of a governance framework that has improved decision-making processes and improved understanding of the importance of governance with the executive leadership team. Implementation of an improvement action plan which includes new processes and templates to enable more effective project delivery. An ongoing training program which has been increasing individual and organisational capability.
